Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Chelsea Academy.

Vision Statement

Chelsea Academy is an inspirational community of learning and achievement with high expectations and high aspirations, underpinned by a culture of “no excuses”. Guided by Christian values, the Academy seeks to bring out the best in everyone, as we strive for excellence in all that we do. No student will be left behind as they are provided with the skills required for life and work in the 21st century. When students complete their Academy lives, they will have the qualifications, leadership qualities and sense of destiny to make a positive contribution to society.

Christian Ethos

One of the sponsors of Chelsea Academy is the Church of England and their educational vision is based on a long history of successful church involvement in the educational, social and spiritual development of young people. This vision is one of service to all people of whatever faith background.

Specialism

Chelsea Academy has a specialism in Science. The vision of the science specialism is for all students to develop an understanding of the importance of the global and local ecological, environmental and ethical impact of science.

Governing Board

Chelsea Academy has an experienced Governing Board (also known as the Trustees). The governors can be contacted via the PA to the Principal, Katie Courtley. For the Governor’s Declaration of Interests and committee membership please scroll to the links at the bottom of the page.

Staff

The Academy currently employs around 150 staff, 80 teaching and 70 associate. All of our staff are Learning Coaches, which means that students are at the absolute heart of everyone’s day-to-day work, and student-staff relationships are developed across all areas of the Academy.

Facilities for hire

Chelsea Academy was built in 2010 and is set in the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. This state of the art building holds a number of exciting facilities that are available for hire.
