Tom Peryer OBE

Tom Peryer was, until Easter 2009, the Director of Education for the Diocese of London, which has 148 Church of England schools, most of which are voluntary aided, although there are now five Academies (including Chelsea Academy). A graduate of York and Southampton Universities with an MBA from the Open University, he has more than 30 years experience of working in state education, most of it in London. Tom is now Director of an educational consultancy, EdPro.

His CV covers secondary school teaching, special education, local authority management and teacher training. For the last 15 years he has been a Director of Education within the Church of England structure, firstly in Somerset and since 1999 in London. He has been working to establish a new secondary Church of England School in Kensington and Chelsea since he became Director of the London Diocesan Board for Schools.

In January 2007 he was appointed OBE for services to education.
