Author Visit from Alexandra Sheppard

On Monday 1st July, we were delighted to welcome Alexandra Sheppard to the Academy, author of 'Oh My Gods', a YA book rooted in Greek mythology and set in the present day. Year 7 and 8 students were treated to an interactive assembly around Alexandra's process into becoming a published author and her life as a writer. Some students then joined in with a creative writing workshop, where they chose between two activities: create their own mythical god or goddess, or put a modern-day twist on a classic Greek myth. This was an incredibly enjoyable day for the students. There are copies of 'Oh My Gods' available in the LRC for students to borrow.
