Chelsea Academy will strive to become an outstanding centre of education. In order to fulfil our aspirations to create a school able to compete with the best in the country, additional funding will be required. On average the annual resource per student in a private secondary school in London is £10,000 more than for the state sector. Chelsea Academy Foundation seeks to bridge that gap.
At present the Foundation is working hard to build an endowment fund to provide a long-term income stream for the Academy. Already in its first year more than £150,000 has been raised from individuals and organisations that have been inspired by the vision for Chelsea Academy and its students.
Now the Academy is open, using a temporary site until the final Lots road site is completed in June 2010, fundraising will also be targeted towards specific capital projects. An Annual Fund will offer the opportunity to support smaller and more immediate projects for the benefit of current students.
To succeed in our aspirations for Chelsea Academy we are actively seeking the support of the local and wider communities in London, from groups and individuals, students and parents. All donations, large and small are gratefully received and contribute directly to supporting the future of this new Academy and those who use it.
