GCSE results in the top 10% nationally!

After significant changes to the GCSE exam process, Chelsea Academy are proud to announce that they have cemented their place in the top 10% of schools nationally according to progress measures. On average a student will get two thirds of a grade higher in every subject at Chelsea Academy compared to other schools nationally. Results in English and Maths are significantly positive and 30% of all grades awarded were either 9, 8 or 7; this is equivalent to the old A* to A measure. 91% of students passed English and 75% passed Maths. Principal, Matthew Williams said: ‘This set of GCSE results is a fabulous achievement for our Year 11 students and sets them up for a great future. They have worked so hard through really tough GCSE exams, never being quite sure where the grade boundaries were – their resilience and hard work have really paid off. I am also proud of our wonderful staff who have worked so hard to ensure that every student is successful. Across the board, looking at all indicators of progress and attainment, these are our best results and top off a great summer exam season for the Academy, with the A level results being so strong last week. I am also really proud of our Year 10 students who all sat GCSE RE a year early with 80% of them passing the course a year early’.
