Harry Potter Book Night

30 of our students attended our Harry Potter Book Night last Thursday, which was a huge success. With the help of Ms MacMillan, the LRC was transformed into our very own Hogwarts, with floating letters suspended from the ceiling and Wanted posters for the most dangerous criminals on the run from the Ministry of Magic. The student librarians thoughtfully made delicious wizarding treats, such as owl cupcakes and butterbeer, along with wand making and photobooth fun. Magical science experiments were also conducted, with the help of Ms Holgate, Ms Beadles, Ms Edge and Mr Gilchrist, in the form of colour-changing potions! The fun didn't end there, though, as the evening continued with a 'Sorting Quiz' to determine whether they belonged…

The fun didn’t end there, though, as the evening continued with a ‘Sorting Quiz’ to determine whether they belonged to Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Jahzel A in Year 9 won The Hogwarts Quiz with flying colours, which tested students’ knowledge of the Harry Potter books, and Eliano T in Year 8 stole the spotlight with his amazing Bellatrix Lastrange outfit for the costume competition.

The students also raised money for Lumos during their evening of festivities, which is the charity run by J. K. Rowling that helps underprivileged children.
