Natural History Museum Trip

The Sixth Form Geography and Science students were delighted to be given a fantastic opportunity by the Natural History Museum to come and watch their incredibly prestigious event, their Annual Science Lecture, which took place on the 28th November 2017. We felt utterly inspired while listening to their special guest speaker, Dr Sylvia Earle (a lead researcher for the BBC TV series Blue Planet II), sharing her perspective on marine conservation and the protection of our oceans. Sylvia was also joined by a panel of leading experts including Dr Samantha Joye, deep ocean explorer and vocal environmental champion. We, the students, thought the discussion on the global challenges of ocean conservation was incredibly important  and engaging to listen to. By the end, we all felt a sense of hope offered by the panel and Dr Sylvia Earle. We all felt that the evening was a successful celebration of discovery and felt more inspired to find out more on how we can be part of creating a change for the future of our oceans.
