Independent Learning

Independent Learning is the term that is used for homework at Chelsea Academy, in order to reflect the fact that studies undertaken by students outside of lesson time may take place within the Academy or at other locations, not just at home.

Teachers take care to set challenging and relevant Independent Learning tasks and activities and students find that their academic attainment and progress is closely related to the time and effort that they put into their Independent Learning.

Each half term, students and parents receive progress reports, which include a grade for Independent Learning in every subject. Parents can view these reports via the Learning Platform.

A considerable amount of Independent Learning can be completed online, via Fronter.
