Pupil Premium funding is the best way to address the current inequalities by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the students who need it most.
The Government believes that the Pupil Premium funding, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current inequalities by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the students who need it most.
The Pupil Premium is allocated to schools annually. It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium will be spent as they are considered best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.
Every student who is in receipt of free school meals (FSM), or who has been at some time during the previous six years, or who has been looked after by the local authority for at least six months, is eligible.
Children who received Free School Meals at primary school will continue to receive them at Chelsea Academy as long as their parent(s) / carer(s) still qualify for one of the relevant benefits. We encourage parent(s) / carer(s) to claim for Free School Meals even if their child does not want one every day.
