Lateral Flow Testing
We use the TestRegister app at Chelsea Academy – this will allow you to upload the results of LFTs easily and securely. If you have not received your log on details you can still register a test by visiting the page above and choose ‘register a test’. You must use the email address we have on SIMS for you. By collecting and opening the test at home test kits you are legally committed to reporting the results via the NHS Test and Trace reporting system.
Tests should be completed twice a week, roughly every three days.
A digital copy of the instruction booklet that comes in the kit can be viewed here.
Further guidance from the NHS on how to take a LFT is available here.
Face masks at Chelsea Academy
In line with other Kensington and Chelsea schools, we have a policy of issuing a sanction to students for not wearing masks. Wearing a face covering is one of the recommended measures schools are being asked to take to get the risk of infection to an acceptable level to enable them to remain open. As part of our risk assessment (which can be found on the statutory documents page), the Academy has determined that wearing face coverings is an important measure that helps to mitigate the risk of spreading Covid 19 amongst students and staff, particularly in light of concerns expressed over new, more contagious variants that may have more resilience to the current vaccines in circulation. The Academy remains concerned that if face coverings are not made compulsory and/or a high percentage of students choose not to wear them, it could undermine the risk assessment and raise the risk of infection in the school community. Please therefore ensure your child brings a clean mask with them to the Academy every day.
If your circumstances have changed and you think you may be eligible to apply for Free School Meals for your child, please email firstname.lastname@example.org who can check and let you know the next steps if you are eligible.
Government guidance about claiming support under the Test and Trace Financial support scheme is also available.
Exam arrangements for Summer 2021
Students who were due to take exams this summer, and their parents, have received direct communication from Dr Greene and Ms Holgate. Further information will be added here as it is confirmed by Ofqual.
The Ofqual consultation response can be found in full here.
Other behaviour concerns
Our Behaviour policy contains guidance on ‘Covid misconduct’ behaviours, which will lead to sanctions. These are in place to protect our community.
