Sixth Form Visit to Harrow School

This week we were invited to take a group of Sixth Form students to Harrow School to attend the Shaftesbury Enterprise Lecture: Mrs Cherie Blair CBE QC, ‘Women and Education'. Most of the students attending intend to study Law or International Development at university, and were interested to hear about Mrs Blair's thoughts on gender equality in the law, along with the work of the Cherie Blair foundation internationally. It was inspiring to hear about Mrs Blair's upbringing in working class Liverpool to her coming top of the bar exam in her year, and becoming a Queen's Counsel while it was still rare for women to do so. Most of the students attending intend to study Law or International Development at university, and were interested to hear about Mrs Blair’s thoughts on gender equality in the law, along with the work of the Cherie Blair foundation internationally. It was inspiring to hear about Mrs Blair’s upbringing in working class Liverpool to her coming top of the bar exam in her year, and becoming a Queen’s Counsel while it was still rare for women to do so. Her suggestions for how society can improve diversity and equality in all professions and settings were inspiring, and we left Harrow feeling so lucky to have been part of the audience – and for Nimah to have the chance to put a question to Mrs Blair.
