Students really enjoyed finding out about what to expect from Psychology at GCSE. Being a new subject there are many misconceptions about what the subject involves and it was lovely seeing students gain awareness of the wide area that psychology covers. They all took part in an experiment on conformity and they all enjoyed talking about areas of clinical psychology and actually saw first hand how the process of labelling can impact on people negatively. Students were intrigued to hear about the overlap that psychology has with the more traditional sciences. I feel it will be a popular option in year 9.
