Year 9 Geography Trip – Natural History Museum

Year 9 were lucky enough to go to the Natural History Museum, Kensington, this week in order to look at the Volcano and Earthquake  exhibition for their current Hazards Unit. Students learned about the way plate tectonics work, volcanic geology and the impacts of earthquakes and volcanoes around the world. A particular highlight was experiencing the Kobe earthquake simulator. They enjoyed a picnic lunch on the lawn before an afternoon looking at weathering and erosion. Students conducted themselves perfectly on the trip and made the most of their learning outside of the classroom.
