Work Hard
Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord and not for your masters
(Colossians 3:23)
Be Kind
Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
No Excuses
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
(Romans 8:37)
Our Christian ethos is at the core of our mission and our identified Christian values.
This phrase: ‘Anchored in Christ’ is used prominently throughout the Academy branding; our school badge is an anchor for this very reason. The anchor divides the badge into five distinct areas, which themselves represent our five chosen values. The Academy’s five identified prominent Christian values – Forgiveness, Joy, Perseverance, Charity and Servant Leadership – reflect the character of Christ’s love. Our values underpin daily life at the Academy and inform all that we do to make the Academy such a unique, diverse and flourishing place. Our Behaviour Curriculum has our ethos, values and mission at its heart. We are fortunate to have a Chaplain who provides dynamic ministry to students and staff; helping all in our community to grow spiritually and know the love of God. They work with local clergy to look both inwards and outwards.
Whilst we proudly celebrate our status as a Church of England academy we welcome students of all or no faiths. We are all united in our vision that Learning together we flourish whatever our beliefs or background. In November 2024 we achieved the SIAMS Judgement 1. We were thrilled that the inspector recognised we were ‘living up to our foundation as a Church school, enabling students and adults to flourish. The inspector highlighted the following strengths:
- Chelsea Academy cultivates an inclusive, caring and nurturing environment which is ‘anchored in Christ’. This means that both staff and students develop a strong sense of belonging
- The school’s Christian vision of ‘learning together to flourish’ fosters an inspiring and holistic curriculum. This means that leaders are highly ambitious for their students and respond innovatively to their needs
- Collective worship is creative and inclusive. Students value the opportunity to reflect on the Christian values of joy, charity, perseverance, forgiveness and servant leadership
- Leaders drive exceptional support for the wellbeing of staff and students. Bold decisions promote a culture where the needs of both staff and students are supported well
- A high level of expertise in the Religious Education (RE) team ensures that learning is rich, challenging and relevant. This builds, and strengthens, students’ understanding of a range of religions and worldviews
